We maintain impeccable standards and our reputation rides on every photo being a high standard.
Even if we only do a little Photoshop, files are still fine tuned for colour, brightness and contrast.
Does that mean the photos are bad without editing?
No. Professional photography is done using a RAW image format and they always need slight adjustments and conversion to Jpeg to look their best.
There's really not much point in having 20 photos of almost the same thing. It's better to have one incredible image anyway, than 20 average ones. Vogue only has one cover.
Additional photos are available for $35 per image. We will do a discount if you order bigger numbers.
We have a number of artists we've worked with and recommend. Myles worked as a fashion photographer so has a good eye for talent. Even if we haven't worked with the artist, we review their folios carefully so you only get the best.
Price varies depending on artist and is between $200 - $300. Hair and makeup for women takes about 1.5 hours. Men about an hour.
It's better if you go the the artist or they go to you. You can do preparation at our office, but it's an additional $100 charge. Why? Because we need to be there for another 1.5 hours when we could be doing other jobs.

Within a day or 2 of your photoshoot, you'll receive a link to an online proof gallery.
We cull unusable photos, eyes closed etc. We also grade the photos into one or two stars to help you make your selections. We strongly suggest you take our recommendations. Why?
Science proves we are highly subjective when looking at our own faces. Editing is as much a part of photography as lighting. When selecting photos we look for a number of things. The main being a genuine emotion or connection. This is what people respond to when looking at your photo. We also look for a pleasing composition and you look good.
You however are usually focussing on some weird thing that nobody notices like a crooked eyebrow or something. We are just as guilty of this! So let us pick. Trust us nobody cares about your crooked eyebrows.
We have been editing millions of photos over 15 years. Our instinct for a good photo is honed by this and is pretty spot on.
Next, make your selections within the proofing software using the instructions given in the software.
Please use this system and don't send screen shots. Why? You can imagine if there's 50 similar looking photos it makes it hard trying to find the correct one.
We also prefer you use the system rather than sending file numbers. People make mistakes sending the wrong numbers and it creates more work. The proofing software will notify us when your choices are made.
Your professional headshots are delivered electronically and stored in the cloud for a year. You'll receive 2 versions of each file.
The high res file is not cropped and is used for printing. The low res version we crop to a square so it's LinkedIn and social media ready.
We reduce the size using a technical 3 step file reduction process to make them look super sharp and yummy.
If you need a different crop please let us know and we can organise for you.
Please save to your own computer and backup! If years down the track you've lost your files and need them again that may involve a fee. Why? It can take a long time searching for an retrieving old files then uploading them again.
We take a deposit from $50 to 25% depending on your package or booking.
Why? Unfortunately we've been ghosted a few times so we need to make sure you're serious about your photoshoot.
Is your deposit refundable? Not if it's less than 48 hours to your shoot. We are heavily booked and if you cancel we might lose another booking.
Allow about 15-20 minutes for a single headshot from the Startup Package.
The Social Hero Package is about an hour.
A personal branding photoshoot is about 2-3 hours.
Each person in a Team Headshots photoshoot will take 10-15 minutes each.
If you have organised hair and makeup allow about 1.5 hours for women, 1 hour for men.
I GET 1 PHOTO RETOUCHED WITH MY PACKAGE. CAN I GET MORE?
Omg, yes! Additional images are available for $40 per image which includes a light Photoshop.
Can I keep all the unedited images from our shoot?

Can I do a location shoot/outside?
Of course! Though this is weather dependent (I'm talking to you Melbourne) and may involve additional costs if far from Melbourne CBD.
WHAT ARE PHOTOSHOP/RETOUCHING OPTIONS AND COSTS?
All packages come with what we call a 'Light Photoshop'. We even out skin colour and tone, remove blemishes and remove lint from clothes.
We give your eyes a little pop and a touch of teeth whitening. Flyaway hairs are cleaned up and we add a touch of the Photoform* signature filter - a creamy clean pop.
A light Photoshop does not include extensive skin softening or body or facial contouring. Our lighting is alway flattering though so you probably won't need it.
A luxury retouch is available for $80 per image. We have been retouching at an advertising grade for over 10 years and you will look flawless.
Why so expensive? There's a bit of a myth that Photoshop or retouching is a one click process.
Our luxury retouch is labour intensive and takes about an hour and a half.
DO I NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT? IS IT REFUNDABLE?

For single person headshot sessions we take payment on the day of your shoot with Square. We can also take payment for team sessions on the day, just let us know before. Oh and we can take cash on the day if you prefer.
Invoices for team sessions are sent and due after you have seen and approved your proof gallery.
You can pay by bank transfer or by secure credit card processing within Xero using Stripe. Credit cards have a transaction fee.
However you pay, you will receive a tax invoice via Xero.

Yes! Just let us know before though as there may be additional logistics. Professional photography isn't the same as whipping out your iPhone. We may need additional lighting, more space or even hiring a studio.
can i have 2 different backgrounds?
Yaas Kings and Queens! We can even do some photos with a studio background and some outside on location.

30-40 is about right. We can do 50 but it's pushing it and harder to maintain our high standards of quality.

No problemo. We can come back and do smaller numbers. Or send them to us on Queen St in Melbourne CBD. Just note that different pricing applies for smaller numbers.
what do i wear and what about makeup and grooming?

if you come to my office, how much space do you need?
As much space as possible. We're greedy like that.
But seriously, a room at least 4m x 4m is ideal.
A private room is best too. It can take a bit for you to warm up and an audience might make you more self conscious.
